One hoax news had recently spread these past days and this hoax is about cosmic rays from Mars that will hit Earth. This cosmic rays was rumored in the hoax that can cause high radiation in opened gadgets and it is added to the hoax that everyone mus turn off their gadgets starting 10:30pm up to 3:30am tomorrow. The hoax had spread all over the country thru text and was spammed all over other cellphone users. This hoax had started in late 2010 in the US in which BBC news had posted a <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/8465619.stm" target="_blank">news</a> article about it.</div>

So what are these cosmic rays? A cosmic ray is a immensely high-energy radiation that originates outside the solar system. There is no confirmed study where cosmic rays come from but researches from NASA states that these cosmic rays come from supernovae, active galactic nuclei, quasars, and gamma-ray bursts. As contrary to the hoax, there is still no confirmed information that heavenly bodies such as planets can create cosmic rays and Earth has a stable atmosphere that can protect its inhabitants from cosmic rays.</div>

My own opinions about this hoax is that this thing is 100% obviously satirical to people who has idea in the field of modern electronics and computers. If we do got caught by the satire news and followed such order, every computer and gadget will be turned off which will also include the vital computers used by radar operators in airports, weather agencies, or even in broadcasting stations. Shutting these down just for that kind of joke would cripple the entire nation in a very disastrous manner. Instead of putting nonsense hoaxes just to get the attention of the people, we should instead use it to spread information on what really cosmic rays are.</div>

Three Eras of British Band Dominance

The music scene is one of the best and iconic scenery in the pop culture and mainstream living of every man. As well as the songs that emerged from nowhere had started to pop up, get known, top the charts, slip through it and exit it. Well, the songs that emerge are all credited to its composers and performers. Music as well can sometimes be considered as a digital war of listening because of the existence of the music charts, especially the one that is ran by the music magazine, Billboard.</div>

In my observations and research regarding the music scene of British performers, it is well obviously seen that there are three British bands from different generations that dominated the world in the music scene and pop culture. Somewhat, their influence had largely changed the music scene ever since they have started emerging and dominating the world music scene. Here are the following British bands we are mentioning from three different generations of time:</div>

The Beatles is an English rock band from Liverpool composed of John Lennon (vocalist), Paul McCartney (guitarist), George Harrison (guitarist), and Ringo Starr (drummer). The Beatles are well known in the 60's and their dominance in the music scene is referred once as <i>Beatlemania</i> and they are considered by music critiques, fellow celebrities, and fans alike as the greatest and most influential act of the rock era. After a decade of fame in the 1960's, The Beatles broke up and each member had move on with their respective music careers. As of today, only two members of the Beatles are still alive, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. John Lennon was assassinated on December 1980 while George Harrison died of lung cancer last November 2001. The two remaining members remained active in the music scene as of today. RIAA considers The Beatles as <i>The Best-selling Band in the USA</i>. They also had more number-one albums on the British music charts, more than any other British band or performer alike. The band also holds the record in Billboard music charts for having <i>The Most #1 Singles in Hot 100</i> with 20 singles. The band as well, had won 10 Grammy Awards in their time of fame.</div>

The Spice Girls is an all female pop group from London, composed of Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), and Victoria Adams-Beckham (Posh Spice). Their dominance in the 90's era sparked the <i>Girl Power</i> phenomenon among teenage girls and had pioneered the commercial breakthrough of teen pop music in the 1990's. People ranging from music critiques and fans alike consider them as one of the powerhouses of the 90's music scene and also, they are referred as the greatest female group of all time. The Spice Girls had reached the dominance of global music scene in 1996 when they released their debut single, <i>Wannabe</i> which managed to hit #1 on 30 countries worldwide. The group however, took a hiatus in 2000 and each member moved on to their respective careers but they declared that the group will not break up.</div>

The Spice Girls are considered as the greatest female group of all time. The group as well was considered as the second generation of British music dominance since the Beatles in the 1960's. They are also the best-selling female group of all time and the record still stands today. Billboard stated as well that The Spice Girls had achieved <i>The Highest Debut of a Non-American Artist at Hot 100</i> with their debut single Wannabe debuting at 11. The Spice Girls as well was a very successful marketing engine at the 90's with grosses of $500 million to $800 million in the time of 1996 to 1998, with the group earning $75 million per year. Last 2012, the group performed <i>Wannabe</i> and <i>Spice Up Your Life</i> once again on the closing ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympics and thus, their latest performance as The Spice Girls, aside for their reunion concert last 2007.</div>

One Direction is a London-based boy band composed of Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Liam Payne. Each member are rejected contestants in the singles audition of the seventh season of X-Factor but however after being grouped up under the ideas of Nicole Scherzinger (who was an X-Factor judge at that time) and Simon Cowell, they managed to enter the Group category and finished third in the X-Factor Season 7. Due to the high demand and the spawning power of social media, One Direction just easily managed to reach fame and get the attention of the international music scene.</div>

One Direction is well known for their undefeated streak at their nominations at the Teen Choice Awards. They have a stunning record of 14-0 winning streak on all their nominations on the said award event since they got their first nomination at TCA's last 2012. They we're also proclaimed by Billboard as the <i>Top New Artist/s of 2012</i>. They are also the second wealthiest musicians under age of 30. Prior to the release of their third album <i>Midnight Memories</i>, One Direction became the first band in the history of Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart to have the first three albums hit the #1 spot. The said album as well became the biggest selling album in 2013.</div>

As of 2014, the band is currently signed to Simon Cowell's Syco Records and is currently working on their fourth studio album.</div>

The three bands featured however, in my opinion, are really the ones that had caught the attention of the worldwide music scene. The power and influence of these three bands that was shown in their respective generations only show that not only the American musicians can make a difference in dominating the international music scene.</div>

Why People Hate Mondays

<p>Monday, the most hated day of the week. People considered this day as the worst day for decades. <li><b>Weekend is Over - </b>Have you ever say to say to yourself  the phrase "Back to reality" after a weekend getaway vacation or doing nothing for two days? One of the main reason why most of us hate Monday because it is the day next to Sunday. Waking up after two days doing nothing but only to have fun really will make you hate that day. Especially that someone had better weekend than you. Your office-mate telling stories on how great their weekend was, or your boss showing his photos with some hot chicks in a yacht while you drink beer alone for two days will absolutely make you hate that Monday is still need to come. </li>

But wait, remember what most people use to say that <i>every problem has a solution</i>. UPDATE: Celine Dion Live in Manila, CANCELLED

The best-selling Canadian singer and award winning pop superstar Celine Dion that is expected to have a mini tour here in Asia, scheduled in October and November of this year had cancelled all of the scheduled dates of her tour, including the November 29 performance at SM Mall of Asia Arena.<br />

According to the official website of the Canadian singer, she had cancelled all the schedules of her Asian tour to give time to take care of her husband, Rene Angelil, who had been removed of a cancerous tumor last December 2013. Official statement of Celine Dion says:</div>

People all over the internet would say that she is a "player on fire" for the Kazakhstan volleyball team but it gives out the reason that it was her "looks" and not her playing skills.</div>

Numerous Facebook pages and Twitter accounts had spawned claiming connection to her but she confirmed to her fans and followers that she is only limited to social networking sites, citing her Instagram and VK accounts. Malaysia Airlines MH17 incident: A Flashback to Previous Commercial Airliners Shot Down

The world is surely shocked after hearing the news of another passenger civilian airliner being shot down by possibly military(?) or rebel(?) personnels, in form of the incident which involved the Malaysia Airlines 17 which is bound to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia coming from Amsterdam, Netherlands. <li><b>Siberian Airlines 1812 (October 4, 2001)</b><br />The flight is bound from Tel Aviv, Israel to Novosibirsk, Russia on October 4, 2001. The aircraft, which is a Tupolev Tu-154 was reportedly shot down by a Ukranian surface-to-air missile, leaving all 78 passengers, composed of 66 passengers and 12 flight crew on-board, dead. Ukraine paid an amount of $15 million to the surviving family members of those who died on the incident.</li>

As it was going on approach to Sukhumi-Babusheri Airport in Abkhazia, it was reported to be hit by a rebel surface-to-air missile and crashed immediately at Black Sea, killing all the 5 crew members and 22 passengers. The September 22 incident involved a Tupolev Tu-154 aircraft belonging to the same airline company (Also, it was reported that it carried Georgian soldiers on-board) bound from Tbilisi to Abkhazia. As it approaches the Sukhumi-Babusheri Airport, it was shot down once again by rebels and crashed immediately on the airport's runway, killing 108 of 132 passengers and crew on-board.</span></div>

<b>Iran Air 655 (July 3, 1988)</b></div>
This incident involves an Airbus A300 passenger aircraft owned by Iran Air and is bound from Tehran to Dubai and was shot down by the United States Navy cruiser USS Vincennes on July 3, 1988. According to the investigation, it was shot down by the cruiser for mistaking that it is an Iranian F-14 Tomcat fighter aircraft. The incident left 290 fatalities composed of 290 passengers and 16 flight crew. This incident is considered to be the seventh deadliest aviation disaster in aviation history (Excluding the 9/11 attacks).</li>

<li><b>Korean Airlines 007 (September 1, 1983)</b><br />This incident is probably one of the most notorious in the Cold War time between the USSR and the United States. The incident involves a Boeing 747 owned by Korean Airlines bound from New York City to Seoul, with a stop over in Anchorage, Alaska. As the aircraft is approaching near the Soviet airspace, it was shot down by a Soviet Su-15 fighter aircraft, leaving 269 passengers and crew on-board dead, including Lawrence McDonald which was the congressman of the state of Georgia at that time. The USSR denied the involvement at the incident at first but later admitted to shot down the plane, believing it was carrying American spies. This incident had sparked the usage of GPS to civilian use and especially, to passenger aviation.</li>

<li><b>Air Rhodesia 825 and 827 (September 3, 1978 and February 12, 1979)</b><br />The incident involves two different aircraft from Air Rhodesia in which both are shot down by the Zimbabwe People's Revolutionary Army (ZIPRA) during the Rhodesian Bush War. The Flight 825 incident, which happened on September 3, 1978 involves a Vickers Viscount aircraft bound from Victoria Falls to Salisbury, both cities are from Rhodesia. The ZIPRA shot down the aircraft using a surface-to-air missile crashing it immediately leaving 48 of 56 people on-board dead. Investigations however, said that 38 died immediately in the crash and the 10 were massacred by ZIPRA immediately after the crash.<br />Five months later on February 12, 1979, Another Air Rhodesia flight was shot down by the ZIPRA once again. The incident involved again a Vickers Viscount aircraft, bound from Kariba to Salisbury, Rhodesia, was shot down by ZIPRA using a shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missile which crashed the aircraft immediately. The second incident left all 59 people on-board dead.</li>

<li><b>Libyan Arab Airlines 114 (February 21, 1973)</b><br />This incident in February 21, 1973 involved a Boeing 727 aircraft, bound from Tripoli, Libya to Cairo, Egypt via Benghazi, Libya. The aircraft got lost contact because of the combined bad weather conditions and equipment failure over the northern areas of Egypt. The aircraft entered the Sinai Peninsula (Which is a part of Israeli airspace) without communication and was intercepted by two Israeli Air Force F-4 Phantoms. After the fighter pilots had thoughts that the civilian aircraft's pilot refuse to cooperate with their commands, they shot the aircraft, crashing it and leaving 105 of 113 people on-board dead. Due to the error of the incident, Israel paid compensations to the families' victims.</li>

<li><b>Cathay Pacific C-54 (July 23, 1954)</b><br />This incident happened on July 23, 1954 which involved a Cathay Pacific C-54 Skymaster aircraft bound from Bangkok, Thailand to Hong Kong. The plane was shot down by China's PLAAF LA-11 fighter planes, causing it to crash to the sea, killing 10 of 19 passengers on board. China then claimed responsibility to the crash and made compensation to Cathay Pacific and to the survivors. It is rumored as well that the Chinese government had executed the pilots who shot down the said aircraft.</li>

Air Algerie Plane Has Crashed in Mali

<p>A plane operated by Air Algerie has crashed in Mali early Thursday, July 24 2014  on its way to Algiers after taking off a few minutes in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Officials said that the Plane have 116 passengers and 6 crew members onboard.<br />

Filipino basketball fans were excited knowing this event of an exhibition game between Gilas Pilipinas and certain NBA Superstars like DeMar Derozan, Kyle Lowry, Tyson Chandler, Brandon Jennings, Damian Lilard and James Harden but all of the great expectations of basketball fans who swarmed to Araneta Coliseum last night, was turned into disappointments and anger as the event was cancelled by organizers in the last minute.</div>

According to the organizers, as well as to the management of the NBA players, they we're not allowed to play because it will break their contract to the famous basketball association and thus, will get themselves suspended if they try continuing to play on the said exhibition game. The event started last night with basketball drills between the NBA superstars and the Gilas Pilipinas players. However, the drills had sparked confusion to the basketball fans who are waiting to the "must-see" exhibition game. In the end, the Gilas coach Chot Reyes explained everything to the fans that a practice drill will be shown, instead of the expected exhibition game.</div>

Knowing this change in the event, the crowd began booing to the people in the court, somewhat disappointed about the information that there will be no exhibition game that will happen that night. Despite the epic-fail event, fans still looked up at the merchandise sold outside the venue. It was also extended to their information that the event on the next day, July 23, is cancelled as well.</div>

Missile Downs Malaysia Airlines MH17
