<p>We all learn the history of the internet in our Computer or ICT subject back in highschool and I'm pretty sure that you all know how to use it.<br />

Internet is the most famous and easiest means of communication to other network or terminal and getting informed about something, It used today for education, social networking, news and public information and many more but do we know who are the pioneers on the internet? Who sent the first email? what is the first social network? what is the first picture uploaded? what is the first browser and many more.<br />

In this article, we will find out the first and the pioneers of the Internet.<br />

<li><b>The First Social Network - </b>No, you are wrong, it is not Friendster, the first social networking site was launched way back in the year 1997. It is the "SixDegrees", it is the first social media that allow a user to create a profile and to become friends to other users. The website is lo longer functional today. It was purchased for $125 million dollars in 2000 and was shotdown in 2001. </li>

Reasons Why Miriam Defensor-Santiago Was Least Voted For Philippine Presidency

So far in the unofficial tallies as of this moment, it is the Mayor of Davao City, Rodrigo Duterte that leads the presidency while the Representative of the Third District of Camarines Sur, Leni Robredo leads the vice presidency with a small margin against Senator Bongbong Marcos.</span></div>

As a voter myself, I also casted my votes on the precint where I am voting, somewhere here in Makati. I voted, of course, Rodrigo Duterte and Bongbong Marcos as my vice president. After I vote, I just spent the day waiting for the election results and the results shown on TV were.</div>

I am satisfied of the result that was shown on the television but it also made me notice that Miriam Defensor-Santiago is on the second to the last rank. As I researched her <a href="http://miriam.com.ph/aboutmiriam.php" target="_blank">background</a>, on all the presidential candidates, she is the most qualified. Rodrigo Duterte comes second to her. The election result that was shown had made me conclude these reasons on why Miriam was least voted for Philippine Presidency.</div>

<li><b>She has the least exposure.</b><br />Yes, indeed she has the least exposure on the campaigns. In my observations from the start of the campaign, I didn't even managed to see a "Miriam for President" TV campaign. Same on the radios. I didn't even managed to hear such campaign. What she did was just show herself on the debates and explain her platform on different issues in our country and also, she appeared as guest speakers of some conferences and some school-related activities. Another thing is that she used the social media and its youth users to campaign for her, thus made her the least (None at all rather) spender on the presidential campaign.</li>
<li><b>She has cancer, she'll die in office.</b><br />This reason was made out by those persons who didn't voted her. She was not voted because she is sick? On all the reasons I listed here, this is the most unreasonable. As I can see on the personality of Miriam, I know she can overcome anything in order to serve the country and cancer is just a little problem for her. Yes, we care for her that's why we didn't voted for her but she cares a lot for the Filipino people that she decided to run for presidency even if her body is infested by cancer.</li>
<li><b>She picked Bongbong Marcos as her tandem for vice president.</b><br />I think everyone (Especially the Martial Law victims) was shocked when she announced that she will go a collaboration with Bongbong Marcos on the campaign going to the Malacañang. I know she had the valid reasons for picking him as her tandem and no one would even attempt to question it to her. Bongbong Marcos was even her student way back, but as we all know, Marcoses (The family itself) had created a very negative hype to the Filipinos because of the Martial Law, the assasination of Ninoy Aquino, as well as the ill-gotten wealth of their family. Knowing that she will have a tandem with a Marcos, it became a large factor that made her the least to be voted in the elections.</li>
<li><b>The Filipino Perfectionist Stereotype</b><br /><b>(This part is my own opinion already)</b> We all know that Miriam is a very intelligent person, No one even managed to go mudslinging with Miriam because of her intelligence. This intelligence she possess is one of the reasons why she is the most qualified to run the Philippines as its president, but this intelligence is also the reason as well why she is the least voted in the elections. Filipinos had stereotyped her as a perfectionist, and will not listen to the Filipino people if they had ideas that are helpful but not perfect. Most of the Filipinos are poor and somehow, want themselves to have a comfortable life under a good-governing president. These Filipinos feel that Miriam deserves to be president but because of stereotyping, they feel that if she wins, she'll just ignore their ideas for a comfortable life because it was not perfect or good after all, and it will not give a win-win result. Miriam is known to decisions that favors both parties a win-win result but with an attitude of Filipinos "that wants to gain the upperhand at all times", I think that made Filipinos stererotype the highly intelligent Miriam.</li>

She had already ran for presidency for three times on different ocassions, She was defeated by Fidel V. Ramos in 1992, by Joseph Estrada in 1998, and this 2016 by Rodrigo Duterte. Because of the results of the past presidential elections she participated in, she was dubbed in social media <i>"The Best Philippine President We Never Had"</i>.</div>

Iyakin ang mga Pilipino

<p>Naniniwala ba kayong bobo ang mga Pinoy? Ako HINDI. Pero naniniwala ako na ang karamihan ng bobong Pilipino ay botante. Ano ba ang depinisyon ng pagunlad sa mga Pinoy? Pag nakakatangap ng Isang kilong bigas kada buwan? Pag may libreng Cake tuwing Birthday nila? May libreng School supplies at sapatos tuwing pasukan? Ang mga bagay na panandalian lang ay hindi pag unlad.<br />

Yung mga taong sumigaw para iboto ang isang kandidato ay sila din ang sumisigaw para pababain ito sa pwesto. Iyakin ang mga Pilipino, Wala silang ginawa kundi magreklamo. Nagrereklamong wala silang makitang trabaho, pero hindi nakapag tapos dahil mga tamad at gago. Kinukuwento nila sa mga ka inuman sa tanghaling tapat ang mga kupal na pulitikong nagnanakaw pero sila din ang bumuto. Kachismisan ang mga kumare habang nagtatantos sa kard ng bingo. Tapos magtataka sila kung bakit sila naghihirap. bakit nga ba? Kase Bobo ka.<br />

Hindi sila umunlad ng nagrereklamo sa buhay habang may umiikot na baso sa harapan nila.<br />

Kahit anung galing pa ng nakaupo kung ganyan ang pilipino, wala ng pagasa ang pilipinas. Sigurado ako. Kahit anung galing pa ng Guro, kung wala naman  balak matuto ang mga studyante nya, walang mangyayare. Tandaan mo ang bobo natuturuan basta gugustuhin nya.<br />

Kung natamaan ka, malamang iyakin at bobo ka din? BOBO kaba tulad ng iba?</p>

One hoax news had recently spread these past days and this hoax is about cosmic rays from Mars that will hit Earth. This cosmic rays was rumored in the hoax that can cause high radiation in opened gadgets and it is added to the hoax that everyone mus turn off their gadgets starting 10:30pm up to 3:30am tomorrow. The hoax had spread all over the country thru text and was spammed all over other cellphone users. This hoax had started in late 2010 in the US in which BBC news had posted a <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/8465619.stm" target="_blank">news</a> article about it.</div>

So what are these cosmic rays? A cosmic ray is a immensely high-energy radiation that originates outside the solar system. There is no confirmed study where cosmic rays come from but researches from NASA states that these cosmic rays come from supernovae, active galactic nuclei, quasars, and gamma-ray bursts. As contrary to the hoax, there is still no confirmed information that heavenly bodies such as planets can create cosmic rays and Earth has a stable atmosphere that can protect its inhabitants from cosmic rays.</div>

My own opinions about this hoax is that this thing is 100% obviously satirical to people who has idea in the field of modern electronics and computers. If we do got caught by the satire news and followed such order, every computer and gadget will be turned off which will also include the vital computers used by radar operators in airports, weather agencies, or even in broadcasting stations. Shutting these down just for that kind of joke would cripple the entire nation in a very disastrous manner. Instead of putting nonsense hoaxes just to get the attention of the people, we should instead use it to spread information on what really cosmic rays are.</div>

Three Eras of British Band Dominance

Their dominance in the 90's era sparked the <i>Girl Power</i> phenomenon among teenage girls and had pioneered the commercial breakthrough of teen pop music in the 1990's. People ranging from music critiques and fans alike consider them as one of the powerhouses of the 90's music scene and also, they are referred as the greatest female group of all time. The Spice Girls had reached the dominance of global music scene in 1996 when they released their debut single, <i>Wannabe</i> which managed to hit #1 on 30 countries worldwide. The group however, took a hiatus in 2000 and each member moved on to their respective careers but they declared that the group will not break up.</div>

The Spice Girls are considered as the greatest female group of all time. The group as well was considered as the second generation of British music dominance since the Beatles in the 1960's. The Spice Girls as well was a very successful marketing engine at the 90's with grosses of $500 million to $800 million in the time of 1996 to 1998, with the group earning $75 million per year. One Direction is a London-based boy band composed of Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Liam Payne. Each member are rejected contestants in the singles audition of the seventh season of X-Factor but however after being grouped up under the ideas of Nicole Scherzinger (who was an X-Factor judge at that time) and Simon Cowell, they managed to enter the Group category and finished third in the X-Factor Season 7. Due to the high demand and the spawning power of social media, One Direction just easily managed to reach fame and get the attention of the international music scene.</div>

<b>1. Show up for the first day of Class - </b>Some Professors might change your class schedule due to conflicts and it often happen on the first week or on the first day. It may be a change in time schedule or room number, so to avoid more hassle in your part it is important to attend your first day.<b> </b>Well I think most of you guys will attend your first day of class, not only because you are excited but you don't want to feel "OP" on the second day when everyone in your class have already their own friends or group right?<br />
<br />
2.<b>Don't forget to bring the college student's best friend -</b> The yellow paper, trust me you will need it until the last day. for what? writing stuffs. Don't be parasite to your other classmates, showing how irresponsible and incompetent you are will give you a hard time finding group mates in projects and in your thesis. Remember first impression lasts, at least show you are good at something. Being responsible.<br />
<br />
<b>3. Don't Buy the Books - </b>until after the first day, Some professors will not require you anymore to buy a book for their subject if they are not the author of that book, and some are so good in lecturing that all you need to do is to listen and to take down notes.<br />
<br />
<b>4. Take down notes - </b>even if you have "photographic memory", it's still important to take down all the requirements and lectures of your professor. It is much easier to review your notes than reading the topic on the net or on your textbook.<br />
<br />
<b>5. Due tomorrow, Do tomorrow is not cool - </b>Trust me, I've seen this, I've done this, you don't want this. start the work on  the day your project or research gave to you, I'm not saying to rush things up but start early, in that way, you will have more time to analyze and revise your work. and once you finish early you will have more time to relax and enjoy you free time.<br />
<br />
<b>And last thing, Enjoy - </b>The most exciting part in the first day for college freshmen is everything. Everything is new, the atmosphere, the people, the place. Be friendly, explore your campus and the city, try new things , enjoy your first day, because trust me you will need it.<br />

Now who is Marina and the Diamonds? Is it band (Hence, the name) or some sort of a random musician? Well, if I tell you guys, Marina and the Diamonds is a screen name of the solo Welsh singer Marina Diamandis. If you got curious what is that "Diamonds" thing, she used it to describe her fans hence coming out with a conclusion of "Marina and her fans".</div>

In 2012, she and Robyn are the front acts on Katy Perry's California Dreams Tour which had helped Marina and the Diamonds get additional fans and make her fame strong. In this year, she released her second album, <i>"Electra Heart" </i>and the album boosted the hit single "Primadonna" in which Marina's most successful single at this time. In her sophomore album, she had cemented her fame status on North America and Europe and the success of her "Electra Heart" album made her kick-off her second tour "The Lonely Hearts Club Tour" which lasted until May 2013.</div>

My mother was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer back when I was child, that time I still don't have any idea what is happening, all I know is my mother never comes out of her room and her hair is starting to fall out. After months of chemotherapy she got better, she get back to her normal life, to our normal life, Like it was never happen, She still have monthly check ups but everything is fine.<br />
<br />
Years have passed, Me and my other siblings are all grown ups, getting ready to face the real world and to settle down, I discover something that tested my faith. Our parents kept the secret that my mother is once again suffering from cancer, and this time a Stage 4 Bone Cancer.<br />
<br />
This time is different, This time, I can see what is really happening, I can see everything. This is the time where my faith is being tested, this the time I questioned myself if God really exist. We tried our best to be a good Catholics, going to Mass every Sunday and holidays, My mother even volunteered in a social service after she got better from her previous cancer. This is the time I questioned God, Why us?<br />
<br />
I remember the day when I brought my mother to hospital via ambulance, nothing more painful than seeing your mother lying in an ambulance bed. Not knowing what will happen I just sit in the end of car and just look all the cars we pass away.<br />
<br />
I remember the day I carried my mother's oxygen tank to our car going to hospital for her therapy. I remember the day I help my mother walk because she can't stand alone anymore, I remember the day when I just hide and cry because I know there is nothing I can do.<br />
<br />
I'm wrong, there is more that I can do. If my father never give up and do everything just to send my mother in a good hospital, there is something that I can do. If my aunt never give up to take care my mother when my father is at work and when we are at school, there is something that I can do. If my mother never give up for us and to be us again for more years, there is something that I can do.<br />
<br />
The days when I see my mother's smile, seeing her getting stronger as days goes on are the days I will never forget. Reading her texts on my phone jut to know how am I doing are the days I will never forget. The days that everyone is there to support us and to be with us in this times of trials are the days I will never forget.<br />
<br />
Life can be tough sometimes, But together with your family, it is just a piece of cake. For all sons, husbands, brothers and sisters, friends of people have cancer be strong for them. showing to them that everything is just going to be fine is the best support that we can give. Because sometimes, the best medicines are cannot be found in tablets and injections but with people who loved them most.<br />

Years ago, my mother knocked out her Breast Cancer. Right now she is battling with her stage 4 Bone Cancer and guess what, She is winning.</p>

My Say to "I'd Rather Go Hungry" Girl

<p>Have you read the article "I Would Rather Go Hungry Than Eat Filipino Street Food Again? This is a review written by a travel blogger from Poland, Agness Walewinder. According to her website, Etramping.com is about travelling the world for less than $25 a day.<br />

Many filipino netizens react negatively after reading the review. Personally, it did pisses me off not only with the one who wrote it but also to my fellow Filipino who had been asked  for a traditional breakfast and gave them a bunch of fruits, coffee and cakes filled with jam? seriously? Im just a normal Filipino but I never had an apple or banana for breakfast, maybe after eating my 'traditional breakfast' but not right after waking up. That is if she really asked someone for a traditional breakfast.<br />
<br />
If you will ask me or any other Pinoy for a Filipino traditional breakfast, there some that will instantly pop in my head. Pandesal, Tuyo, Tinapa, Tapsilog or any meat that you like to mix with fried rice and egg. She probably ask a wrong person and eat in wrong places.<br />
<br />
She also mentioned that she suffered a lot of illness while staying in the Philippines like massive migraine, diarrhea, dizziness, mood swing and feeling tired. Take note, she's a travel blogger, she travels a lot. Blaming the food for having PMS?<br />
