The morning of February 7 was strucked right ahead of a tragic accident somewhere in the highest and mountainous areas of Bontoc, Mountain Province.

A bus fell off a ravine in Bontoc, Mountain Province which led to the deaths of 14 people, including two foreign nationals and the famous comedian, Arvin "Tado" Jimenez, and 20 injured. The bus, owned by GV Florida Transport was traveling for already 12 hours from Sampaloc, Manila and it was 30 minutes away from its destination when the accident happened. The bus company is also known to travel that same route directly from Manila since 2013.

The accident resulted for a prompt of LTFRB to suspend the franchise of the 228 units of GV Florida and putting all of its units to vehicular tests, as well as their drivers for a drug examinations. Another news that followed after the accident is that the plate number of the bus unit that was involved in the accident wasn't registered to GV Florida but to another bus company, Mountain Province Cable Tours.
