During the festival, no foreign films are shown in Philippine theaters in order to showcase locally produced films. This year, 15 entries were submitted but only 8 were chosen by the MMDA. Contrary to the tradition, the <i>Enteng Kabisote</i>, <i>Panday</i>, and <i>Shake, Rattle & Roll</i> films will not be joining this year's MMFF.</span></span></div>

In order to combat them, humans living in the countries near Pacific created the Jaegers, colossal robots capable of fighting them. But as years go by, the Kaiju had adapted to the fighting strategies of the Jaegers which makes them grow stronger as the years go by. The surviving Jaegers were out to be sent to Hong Kong for last stand because the UN itself would stop funding the Jaegers and instead, use it to create the anti-Kaiju wall.</div>

The effects of the movie can be relatively compared to the three Transformers films, in which both movies revolve in robots and mechanized technology. The high accounts of science fiction will also encourage people to watch and its revolution of its storyline to the robots and monsters will surely make the movie action -packed. Also, the movie will also give people idea of what is a Kaiju. For everyone's information, Godzilla itself is not a dinosaur, but a Kaiju as well.</div>

The plot mostly revolves in the year 2020 to 2025 where the Kaijus started to grow stronger in fighting. As movie watchers say in this film, the plot itself lacks some stories and scenarios of how really the Jaegers have started. Its like the movie itself shall be the ending of the story. More people also wants to know the background of the other 3 Jaegers (being <i>Cherno Alpha of Russia, Crimson Typhoon of China, Coyote Tango of Japan, and Striker Eureka of Australia</i>) before the movie. Most of the parts of the movie only revolves to the American jaeger, <i>Gipsy Danger</i>.</div>

As an overall verdict, this movie will only receive 4-stars due to some incompleteness in the plot. This movie has great effects, and storyline and a must watch for everyone, but curiosity will always arise on other scenes especially the one that is mentioned in this review.</div>

After the dominance and success of Katy Perry's second album Teenage Dream in the past year of 2010, this time, her 3rd album Prism is now officially released to public. The album officially debuted on record stores last October 22.

The album, which is distributed by MCA Music Group (Licensee of Universal Music) here in Philippines.<br>

The album sold here on the first week since its release is an import version from US, which has a paperback casing. The same paperback case was once implemented in the scented Teenage Dream album, which was first sold on its first weeks of its release way back 2010. UP Student Wins Photography Contest Using Stolen Photo

<p>Mark Joseph Solis, A graduate student from University of the Philippines admitted submitting a photo he did not personally take for the Chilean Embassy in Manila's contest "Smile for the World" that was took place last September 18th.<div>

The Million Peso Flagpole

The photo was uploaded just after the Million People March against the Pork Barrel and corruption held in Luneta last August 26, 2013.</div>

Dir. Reynalno Tagundando of the Department of Public Works and Highway NCR, that the project went through a bidding, and not overpriced. He also explained that the specifications,size, including the foundations were changed, it will be taller and powered by a mechanized pulley.</div>

The proposed flagpole will be 52-meters in height and 400 - 800 millimeters in width. It will replaced the old 32-meter flagpole that will be transfer to Kawit, Cavite.</div>

The target date of the completion of the project is before December 30 in time for the Commemoration of the death anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal.</div>

peacefully.</span></blockquote>

starting to converge along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City early Monday
morning,<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span><span class="textexposedshow">a few hours before the State of the Nation Address.<br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">Street vendors were selling kwek-kwek (quail eggs),
bottled water and other drinks while kids were roaming around the car-free
Commonwealth Avenue looking for coins dropped by passing vehicles the previous
days.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">What set the scene apart from an ordinary day along
the busy highway: container trucks and barbed wires were in place, signs of of
things to come.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">On the other side of the fenced area, policemen
were lying on the road resting. Some of them had been posted there since two
days ago.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow"><b>Chaos</b></span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">At around 11:00 a.m., a big group of activists
arrived near Ever Gotesco Mall. The protests began.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">Activists hurriedly removed the metal fence on the
island, allowing them to bypass the police barricade. Anti-riot policemen from
the other side of the road ran and tried to block them, but the protesters
pushed through.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">There was one policeman who flashed a peace sign to
the protesters, asking them to remain calm. He urged activists to hold a
dialogue instead of resorting to violence.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">And then chaos began.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">On one side, policemen blocked and pushed
protesters away. On the other, the activists told the first line of security
that they wanted to go near Batasan Complex.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">Rocks were thrown and people were hit with
truncheons and shields. Most of the members of the media stayed on top of a
dump truck to give them a good vantage view, while some remained in the middle,
sandwiched by the clashing protesters and policemen.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow"><b>Crying cop</b></span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">It was a long and tiring dispersal. According to
reports, at least 50 were injured in the clashes.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">But amid the chaos, my lens caught a scene I
thought I would never see during a dispersal.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">A foreign protester was berating a policeman asking
him why they were hurting the people. “Why are you doing this to us? Why are
you hurting us?!”</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">The officer simply stood his ground. “I am a
policeman, I’m just doing my job.”</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">He said his job was to maintain peace and order. He
said they were given orders and they had to follow.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">Suddenly, the police officer cried.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">The foreigner kept on shouting at this officer. But
the policeman couldn't stop crying. He was trying to hold his tears, but he
couldn't.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">Another round of clashes erupted. The policemen
were still trying to push and shove the protesters away. The crying cop simply
stood his ground. He was still holding his shield firmly. Still weeping,
sobbing.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">Later, I approached the policeman and asked him his
name. He said he is Joselito. A quick glance at his name tag revealed he is
policeman Joselito Sevilla.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">He said he is a private, and his uniform patch
showed he is from the Marikina police unit.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">Asked why he cried, he only said: "Sa gutom at
pagod. Walang tulog. Walang pahinga. Dalawang araw na kami naka-deploy dito.
Tapos ganito, nagkakagulo."</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">It was also PO1 Sevilla's first dispersal
assignment.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow"><b>Realization</b></span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">I finally understood him. No sleep. No food. No
rest. And he came face-to-face with protesters whose goal was to break the
police line.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">Sevilla was physically and emotionally exhausted.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">But he was following orders. He was just doing his
job not to let protesters get near the Batasan Complex.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">He did not hurt the protesters, even if some were
already throwing rocks and hitting cops with wooden sticks.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">Finally, some protesters noticed him, too: a
policeman, whom they expected to retaliate, was in front of them, holding his
shield firmly, weeping.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">And then they started to console PO1 Sevilla. A man
held his shoulder, telling him that everything would be alright. Another woman
comforted him, as she tried to give him a handkerchief to wipe his tears.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">Amid the chaos, these two protesters hugged PO1 Sevilla
and assured him everything would be fine.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">Seconds later, other policemen noticed what was
happening and they moved PO1 Sevilla away from the front lines, away from the
activists.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">I was caught in the middle and I couldn't find him
anymore. He was gone.</span><br />
<br />
<b><span class="textexposedshow">Show of strength</span></b>
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">State forces, especially policemen, are expected to
be firm and not show emotions. What PO1 Sevilla did was not what was expected
of him.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">Did the other anti-riot policemen remove him from
the front line?</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">This incident only shows we are all human beings.
It is not bad to show weakness by crying; that we can still do our job, stand
our ground, but still be peaceful and not hurt another human being; that two
opposing groups can still show compassion as shown by the man and woman who hugged
PO1 Sevilla.</span></span></span></span></blockquote>

Why Social Media Hate Nancy Binay

But Why Social Media Hate Nancy?</div>

1. <b>Not Participating on Debates</b> - After the netizen heard the 'Fake' news that Nancy had a Temporary Protection Order from the court against any kind of discussion and/or debates, netizens rage calling her Dumb and not fit for a public office. She also receive criticism after she refuse to debate Risa Hontiveros, also a Senatorial Candidate, and chooses to focus on campaigns instead. </div>

Binay said she had no more time for debates because there are still many provinces she need to visit and she needs more grounds to cover because she joined the senatorial race relatively late after one of the candidates of United Nationalist Alliance, Joey De Venecia backed out. Nancy Binay said that the other candidates had already prepared a year ago because they had already an intentions of running for the senate.</div>

2. <b>No Clear Track Record - </b>Nancy Binay served as a "Personal Assistant" to her parents. She said one of her interviews that her 20-years of OJT under her parents is enough to run for the senate. Between 1998 and 2001 she performed Administrative duties as personal assistant to her mother who was then the Mayor of Makati. From 2010 She has been a personal Assistant to his father who is the current Vice President. </div>

She is involved in various humanitarian causes. Member of the Board of several foundations like Brighthalls Children's Foundation, Serbisyong Tunay Foundation and the JCB.</div>

The reason why the netizens saying Nancy Binay has no Track Record because they are comparing her with Risa Hontiveros, but some of the senatorial candidates also have no clear records or no any government and legislative experience like Bam Aquino, Eddie Villanueva and Grace Poe.</div>

3. <b>From a Family of Politicians</b> - His father Jejomar Binay is currently the Vice President of the Philippines, His brother Jun Jun Binay recently re-elected as the Mayor of Makati, her sister, Abigail Binay elected as the representaive of Makati in the Congress and soon to be proclaimed as one of the Senators of the Philippines Nancy Binay. </div>

Political Dynasty is widely spread in the Philippines. One Family running a city or in a different government positions. People nowadays based their votes on names and not anymore on experience and platforms. The recently Senatorial elections shows that some of the new Senatorial candidates have potential to be a good leader, but most of the winners are either re-electionist or from a family of politician.  I still don't get the point why people keep voting on the same names even they don't see any improvements.</div>

Things to remember on Election Day

<li>Show your forefinger to BEI to show that you still have no indelible ink  and have not voted yet.</li>
<li>Get the Official Ballot and a marker pen from BEI</li>
<li>Shave the Oval across your desired candidate. </li>
<li>After voting, Insert your ballot into the PCOS machine and wait for the message on the screen that says "CONGRATULATIONS, YOUR VOTE HAS BEEN REGISTERED."</li>
<li>Proceed to BEI to put an indelible ink on your forefinger.</li>
</ul>

<li>Don't vote candidates because of their surnames, being a good leader is not a generic trait. </li>
<li>Enough with the promises of politician that they can end poverty, vote those with clear platforms and no bad record. </li>

The nine "Sure" Senate winners according to SWS

<p>The Social Weather Stations give the names of the nine Senates candidates who are likely wins next week election.<br />

The results were based on a survey of 2,400 registered voters nationwide two weeks before the election. And The Team PNoy is the one who dominated the results of the May 2-3 SWS survey, with seven of its candidate bags the seat, leaving only two guaranteed seats for UNA.</div>

PBA Former Import Bobby Parks died at 51

<p>Bobby Parks, One of the best imports ever played in Philippine Basketball Association passed away last March 20, 2013 because of Cancer.<br />

Parks, at the age of 51 loses his battle against Lung Cancer which develop from his previously untreated laryngeal cancer.</div>

Bobby Ray Parks was an American Professional Basketball Player from Tennessee, starts his career when he played for University of Memphis during 1980's.  He was also a third-round choice by the Atlanta Hawks  in 1984 NBA Draft</div>

Parks also played in PBA from 1987 - 1993 and became the second American inducted into PBA Hall of Fame last September 2009.</div>
