“Ahh, Ryan. I don't know anything about Ryan, I don't care. The man means nothing to me; he's just a name. But if, you know, if going to Rem"al, and finding him so he can go home, if that earns me the right to get back to my wife, well then, then that's my mission.” – Captain Miller (Tom Hanks)

Saving Private Ryan is a story of a group of U.S soldiers sent to a new mission to go beyond enemy line to retrieve a paratrooper whose other brothers have been killed in action.

The movie begins in the invasion of Omaha Beach in Normandy on June 6, 1944 (D-Day), And that 25 minutes of opening sequence detailing their landing on that beach is the Strength of the film. That was really based on the situation in the beach during World War II and allows us to see the horrors of War. The direction of Steven Spielberg and cinematography of Janusz Kaminski allows the viewers to experience and to feel what happen on that beach or describe as “the closest thing to hell on earth”.
